Earn & Display Badges Across The Web Via Mozilla’s Open Badges

Mozilla’s Open Badges:

Mozilla’s Open Badges is an initiative by the Mozilla Foundation to help recognize and support lifelong learning through a badge ecosystem.

Mozilla’s Open Badges aims to help any organization or learning community to issue, earn and display badges across the web.

By displaying skills and achievements that traditional degrees and transcripts often leave out, badges can lead to jobs, community recognition, and new learning opportunities.

Easy To Use:

Any Badge Issuer (for example, an after-school program, free online course, or vocational institute) can award Badges to learners like you.

Learners/badge earners can then collect and manage their badges in a Badge Backpack. This makes it easy to display your skills and achievements across a range of different Display Sites—from your personal resume or web site, to social networking profiles, to employment sites.

Best Part Is:

By using Mozilla’s Open Badge Infrastructure, any organization or community can issue badges backed by their own seal of approval.

In the Open Badges ecosystem, badges include an image and a set of metadata that explains the badge and the evidence behind it.

The result is that each badge carries all the information needed to understand and value the badge with it as it is exchanged or shared across the ecosystem.
