Now retailers and their employees can collect tips from their customers even if they don’t have cash.
What Is Dipjar?
Dipjar is a new startup that aims to collect money from customers as a tip through credit cards and debit cards.
Just dip your credit or debit card into the DipJar and pull it out.
Easy To Use:
All you need to do is just register through their website and plug the DipJar into a power outlet and you can start accepting tips.
Once the DipJar is on the countertop, customers can start dipping their cards — their system does the rest.
DipJar tip amounts are preset — $1 for most locations — so you’ll always know how much you’re tipping when you dip your debit or credit card. All DipJar tips will appear on your bill as charges to “DipJar Inc.
Best Part Is:
DipJar is completely free. They take a small service fee for tips processed at no cost to retailers, while collecting a significant tip money for employees that would otherwise not exist.
Other good part is that DipJars encrypt credit card information immediately upon card dip and transmit it securely to our servers.
Data is not stored on the DipJar beyond the time it takes to transmit their data. The DipJar system also has many internal checks against fraud — for example, we are alerted of suspicious repeated dipping. Any charges contested within 30 days will be refunded.
