2 ex-Googlers raise $700K for Minno micropayments

Minno is a micro payment platform for buying stuff online, got $700,000 in new (convertible debt)seed funding from GRP ventures &Farhad Mohit (founder of Shopzilla).
Minno has also announced that they are going to change their name.Now Minno would be called as BuySimple. The logic behind the changing their name is quite obivous from its new domain name “Buysimple”.That’s exactly what this site is all about.It aims to make buying as simple as possible.
BuySimple:
BuySimple is to create “spare change for the web.” The company provides websites with a BuySimple button that can be embedded on any web page, allowing site owners to easily and securely collect payments for things like articles, web apps, videos, and music.
Best Part Is:
Users don’t have to create new accounts to use BuySimple; instead, they simply connect their Facebook accounts (other OpenID providers will be supported shortly). New users are also given $2.00 immediately, enabling them to make their first few purchases for free, with later purchases funded via credit card. Integration with merchant sites is similarly straightforward, and the service is completely free to qualifying partners during the beta period.

Founded by two ex-Googlers, Calvin Young and Noah Ready-Campbell, BuySimple brings a fresh perspective to micropayments. Noah has been fascinated by micropayments for years, co-authoring a paper on the topic while a student at the University of Pennsylvania (http://goo.gl/Zcr8A).
He commented, “People think that micropayments have never worked, but it’s not the case — mobile apps, in-app payments, and social games have all skyrocketed in popularity.
